Mark Bergman

Double Bassist and composer Mark Bergman currently serves on the faculty of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He graduated from Yale University in 1997 as a full-scholarship recipient and performs with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and the Assisi Music Festival in Assisi, Italy. Previous positions held include Principal Double Bassist with the New Haven Symphony, Principal Double Bassist with the Mato Grosso Chamber Orchestra in Cuiaba, Brazil, and Section Bassist with the Hartford Symphony. As a composer, Mark studied with Richard Danielpour, Donald Erb, and John Corigliano. His music is published by Amazing Music and is regularly heard throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. He was a winner in the British International Bass Forum Composition Contest and the Kappa Gamma Psi composition contest. Recent commissions include those from the Assisi (Italy) Festival, Elizabethtown College, Ithaca College, Governor’s School of North Carolina, and the Mato Grosso Chamber Orchestra. Tiffany Richardson

An active performer and teacher in Northern Virginia, Tiffany Richardson holds degrees from the University of Maryland and the New England Conservatory of Music. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Richardson was a former member of the Lyric String Quartet. Most recently she has performed at the Kennedy Center with her trio, Virginia Virtuosi. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with the New World Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, the Richmond Symphony, the Spoleto Festival USA and the Mozaic Festival. A strong supporter of contemporary music, Ms. Richardson can be heard on several world premiere recordings as a member of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. She has studied with Daniel Foster, Michael Tree, Carol Rodland and Ralph Fielding. |

Nancy Jin

Violinist Nancy Jin is an active freelance musician in the DC metropolitan area. A native of Fairfax, VA, Ms. Jin studied with Vernon Summers of the National Symphony Orchestra then received degrees from The Cleveland Institute of Music and Yale University School of Music. Ms Jin is currently a member of the Fairfax Symphony, and have performed at Alice Tully Hall, The Kennedy Center and The Strathmore. She has been a substitute with The National Symphony Orchestra as well as with the Richmond Symphony. Ms. Jin was a member of the Hartford (CT) Symphony Orchestra for 3 seasons. In addition to performing, she enjoys teaching and maintains a thriving violin studio. She is a former faculty member of the Neighborhood Music School (CT) and Creative Music and Arts (CT). Ms. Jin is a certified Suzuki teacher and a member of the SAA. |
